Ms. Sanchita Raha joined CHIREC as the Principal of the International Section in 2018. She is a veteran educator and leader, having over 24 years of experience in teaching and administration. She has handled multiple curricula that include Cambridge, ICSE, ISC, SEBA, and IBDP. She was instrumental in setting up the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme at The Heritage School, Kolkata, where she worked for 14 years.
An alumnus of St. Xavier’s College Kolkata, Ms. Raha has a Master’s in English from Kolkata University and Bachelor’s in Education from Jadavpur University. She holds certification in TEFL and Master IELTS training.
Her previous assignment before CHIREC was as the Director of Access Academy, a pre-undergraduate preparatory programme at the Asian University for Women, in Chittagong, Bangladesh offering the American Liberal Arts curriculum. She has worked extensively and closely with young women from 16 Asian countries, having diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds and aspiring to empower themselves through global education so that they are able to become the future voice of their community. English language teaching for purposes of academic reading and writing has been her core competence and she is well versed in developing language models that incorporate the best practices from some of the most widely acclaimed and trusted curricula of the world, including IB. Having been in an educational leadership position for several years, Ms. Raha’s strength lies in education programme policymaking, its evaluation, and implementation.
Apart from this, she takes a keen interest in co-scholastic activities and believes that a strong activities department contributes greatly towards skill building in students. In addition to other responsibilities, Ms. Raha also worked as the Director of Student Services at AUW, where she oversaw the Office of Student Activities, Career Development, and International Program as also Residential Life. She also has extensive experience in conducting training and workshop sessions on skill development for teachers and students.
